The Madison Hotel, the best choice in Hamburg

Hello Nextinationers,

For those who follow me on social networks, you might know, that a month ago I visited Hamburg, one of the cities that I had in my bucket-list for Germany. During my visit, I stayed at the Madison Hotel which was definitely the best choice in Hamburg for my stay.

Location

The hotel is located in one of the best areas in Hamburg if you want to visit the city and have everything nearby since it is very central. From the hotel, we were able to walk to several of the sites we wanted to visit.

A few minutes walk you will find Hafen City, the port, Speicherstadt, the Church of Saint Michael, the Town Hall, and the shopping area. Even if you arrive from the airport, as soon as you take the train that takes you to the center of Hamburg, the metro line S1 stop called «Stadthausbrücke» is only 8 minutes walk from the hotel.

Rooms

The Madison Hotel is not small because it has 166 rooms, from Studios, Suites to Penthouse.

In my case, I stayed in a Suite room type, of 70 square meters, with a fully equipped kitchen, which even had a Nespresso coffee machine. As a person who loves coffee first thing in the morning, I really appreciate the fact of having a Nespresso machine in the room when I travel away from home.

The Suite had a reasonably large lounge with sofas, a big screen TV, a work desk and huge windows, so it was very bright, which is another of the things that I also appreciate, to have a lot of natural light.

The Suite also had two bedrooms, the master bedroom, the guest room and a balcony overlooking the neighboring church of Saint Michel. The views were magnificent, and also, it was the autumn season, so we got to see the changing colors of the leaves of the park that we had right next to the hotel.

The bathroom was also huge and with all quality, with a washbasin of Villeroy & Boch and amenities from Rituals, including a shower and bathtub.

The furniture was of outstanding quality, and one of the things that struck me was that just entering the room was lit the musical thread sounding a pleasant and relaxed classical music.

One of the things I also appreciate when I travel the hotel wifi connection since several times I have to work during my travels and need a good and quick link to work with pictures and videos, and in this case, this hotel had an excellent connection.

Last but not least, upon arrival we found in our room a nice welcome letter from the hotel management with some delicious sweets to boost our energy!

Hotel Services

  • Marley Restaurant, where the buffet breakfast was served and also had a lunch menu or a quick menu and an a la carte dinner.
  • Bar, where you can have a cocktail or a glass of wine after a day walking around the city..

The breakfast buffet had very long working hours, from 6.30-11.00, and had a large number of options: different types of yogurt and cereals, different types of milk, jams, cold cuts, sweets, different cheese tables, lots of fruit as well as the option to prepare eggs to your taste with bacon, sausages etc.

  • Gym, with the ability to work together with a personal trainer.
  • Spa, one of the highlights of this hotel is also the possibility to enjoy the spa, a massage or a sauna after a long day of work if you have come from business or after a long day of sightseeing walking all over the city. It has a swimming pool, sauna, steam bath, massages…

Definitely, the best choice I made when looking for a hotel in Hamburg. I look forward to repeating the experience with The Madison Hotel.
